If I driver for Uber/Lyft, can I subtract fuel expenses from my wages to not hit the 1220 cap?

Fuel expenses will eat up a very large portion of the wages of driving for Uber/Lyft.

If I can only make $1220 and still need to pay for fuel/car payment I'd probably realistically be putting $100-200 a month in my pocket.

Is it possible to not count the money I make and put it in the tank as income? What about car payment?
